I had my first experience with yoga in a college gym class. There, the emphasis was to get the poses ï¿½right,ï¿½ so for years I sporadically attended a wide variety of classes in different styles, but never felt like I was ï¿½goodï¿½ at yoga. I loved the stretching and release I would feel after certain poses, but my hips felt too tight, warrior poses felt worthless and my balance was wobbly so I never even considered teaching.
Over the last few years I began to really prioritize my yoga practice, attending often and regularly. I paid close attention to my teachers, learning something in every class. I realized that commitment to my practice was leading me to greater strength and a more empowered sense of self. I decided I needed to become a teacher to share this with others.
I enjoy teaching yoga to any level, any age of student. I love inspiring my students to be in the moment with their body on their mat, explore poses in a new way and find peace in their body just as it is. It is very important to me to teach my students there is no such thing as being ï¿½good at yogaï¿½ but that yoga is just about being and exploring and getting out of your head, so you can be more present in life.
In addition to yoga I love music (listening, playing, singing), painting, swimming, running, traveling and spending time with my family.
Love Vibe Yoga in Village Shopping Center Allen, Tx. Everyone there was friendly and welcoming. The instructor Maria was fantastic, warm, prepared and made the class approachable, thematic, and super instructive.
